Reflections!
Unfortunately Honeymoon Vacation {[great] Backpacking} is complete, but left an indelible mark in us, as every trip we made.
Cris and I travel for fun and for the pleasure of discovering the world, but every time we come back from a trip we always feel a bit 'changed.
Cris and I travel for fun and for the pleasure of discovering the world, but every time we come back from a trip we always feel a bit 'changed.
We believe that new experiences do mature people, and that each trip, leaving in the mind and hearts a series of memories and emotions that we carry within us forever, that enrich us, make us open our minds and make us understand what surrounds us and how the world works beyond the exit of the house.
But every trip back even more aware of the beauty of our land, this land we love and makes us feel proud to live and belong, a land rich in culture, traditions and beautiful places that have nothing to envy to great places we had the good fortune to visit in the World
guys with us, we wanted this blog to share with you our journey but also the way we travel, we strive to improve travel on the road, and hope will be useful for a state
your future trip to AUSTRALIA!

We're back in Italy!
As we have already that we landed in Rome at 7:15 of 23/10/2009 and stoned all threw ourselves on the Leonardo Express, for the uninitiated, is the direct train to Roma Termini and from the coast beauty from 11 € per person for 30 minutes of running! Vabbuò does nothing, after all we were still on vacation!
We arrived at the Termini railway station at about 9 and after a good espresso (which is a bit 'we were missing), we waited for the arrival of Francis (Mythical Member - Testimonial) who accompanied us in a hotel on Prenestrina (I think that was the name that Via?) we had already booked Pamela (Pamela Mitica !!!).
After a bit 'of Km and about half an hour we arrived at the center and went to greet old Pamela Viennese brewery, the restaurant where she works! Then Francis led us in a tour among the English Steps and the Colosseum, the Foro Italico between Montecitorio!
We had quite a nice ride and we have not even heard the rain falling, so we were busy telling us about our travel adventures!
one o'clock we went to lunch where she works Pamela and then when we finished we went for a coffee! (Angelo, meanwhile, had also arrived, we had already met before at the restaurant Nino!)
In the afternoon, and Pamela Frank made us go to Villa Borghese and Piazza del Popolo, then we believe we have to get to Piazza San Pietro!
Here we admired the beautiful Bernini's colonnade surrounding the church (a place Monk)!
not entered the Basilica because we did not have time, given that Francis had to go to work and then because Pamela had in his pocket: a cleaver
a shotgun Bazooka
1 3 kg of explosive
7 guns
But above all he had with him the corkscrew and the police just do not like that does the check - in order to enter the Basilica!
So we took the tram 19 (do not recommend that to all those who are in a hurry), which has put us an hour to bring us to the hotel but gave us a nice tour of the center of our capital!
After a shower we went and our dear Pamela us loaded into the car and we went to Via Calabria, where there is the Restaurant "The Refuge of the Butter," where you can eat a "Fiorentina" spectacular and admired our "Partner" that works! We waited a bit 'to arrive Pasquale Maiellaro who had messed up the roads between the Capitoline and then finally we went to dinner!
gnawed After more than a couple of Florentine kg each, we went out and we went to a bar in front of the restaurant where we had a drink and then we take a walk (but first the boys accompanied me kindly and urgently in Hotel bathroom), the trip also handles my delicate intestines!
Unfortunately, after a prosecco in Campo dei Fiori, and a peek into the keyhole where you can see a good detail of the capital, we had to return to hotel and here we said goodbye.

Melbourne - Hong Kong - Rome ..., 22/10/2009 - 23/10/2009
Hello everyone!
Melbourne - Hong Kong - Rome ..., 22/10/2009 - 23/10/2009
The alarm clock this morning was a bit 'bitter since we announced the beginning of our last day in Australia.
Anyway ... we got up and after leaving the luggage at the reception we went to go and do some 'shopping, sin, however, that the Australians in the morning take it easy, so we took advantage of the time available to us for breakfast and to wander a bit 'for the center, until 10, when they finally decided to open stores!
After several streaks of credit card and we went back to the hotel after taking the suitcases we called a taxi that took us to the airport "Tullamarine" in Melbourne, here we checked in and then we bought some 'of Australian wine duty free! We
off at 15:00 (Melbourne time) of 22/10 and arrived in Hong Kong before midnight (Hong Kong time) or we left Hong Kong at midnight?? Boh!? we have not understood anything with all those changes of time! In Hong Kong we have still some u 'duty free shopping (the Marlboro Ligth to 1 and € 10 a packet!)
However, after the endless hours (not counting the more than 20 secure parking at the airport for transfer ) We landed in Rome at 7:15 (Italian time) on 23/10!

GREAT! GREAT! Great Ocean Road!
Melbourne - Great Ocean Road, 21/10/2009
Melbourne - Great Ocean Road, 21/10/2009
... And out of bed at 6 am : 30 to catch the bus that would take us on the Great Ocean Road, without a doubt one of the most beautiful in the world!
As a transport company for our "Day Trip" we chose the Grey Line a company that operates in several countries in the world, specializing in day trips or up to three days. Ah
the thing that struck us in the tour that we did is that the tourist guide is held directly by the drivers!
However, we left around 8:30 from Federation Square and at least up to Geelong (the town adjacent to Melbourne, where begins the legendary Great Ocean Road) we can not keep my eyes open. Geelong
After we stopped at Bells Beach, a popular beach frequented by surfers and we read that here during Easter when hundreds will gather to challenge the waves really important at that time.
But to us what he had begun to affect the landscape, this series of cliffs overlooking the ocean that sometimes gave way to some strip of beach.
A few miles after we stopped on a hill where our driver - Guide, we prepared a hot tea, a variety of typical Australian, and here we could start to take some pictures.
then we have come a very winding road, which put a strain on the stomach of crisis and other ladies on board ...
After several kilometers of curves we arrived in a village where we had lunch, after lunch we went to the pharmacy to buy anti-nausea wristbands, which perhaps only have a psychological effect, but the fact is that Chris has not vomited and we were all happy!
During the bus trip we were trying to spot some Koalas in the trees of real eucalyptus forests along roadsides.
The landscape was too beautiful, while fascinated by the waves crashing on the rocks, the other was to remain open-mouthed in the boundless green fields so perfect that they look like paintings, the houses among the herds of sheep and lots of trees ... wow really beautiful green countryside that is immersed in blue ocean ...
In the distance, as we approached the "Twelve Apostles", we saw a whale that made the huge splash!
The Twelve Apostles are huge rocks shaped by wind and sand from the ocean, unfortunately there have also been killed hundreds of people, as a result of the numerous wrecks of ships that were or were from the Old World! The wide
palette that opened our eyes made us stand open-mouthed, and here we took dozens of photos!
Actually, the posts have been wonderful and the fact that our vacation was almost over, but this place has left me a bit 'of melancholy and a great desire to return to Australia as soon as possible, but maybe an emotion that we felt every time we had to leave! L
Well anyway the rest of the trip we passed between the search for koalas in the trees and an old film set in these places, while the bus brought us back to Melbourne from breathtaking landscapes .... Auummm!
Once in Melbourne we took a tour of shops and shops and then for dinner we went to the "Movida", where we fired more than $ 100 Basque Tapas and beer! Oh, but you wish it was our last dinner Australian!

Shopping in Melbourne !!!
During several hours of flight, between a half and the other, we often read of a great and ancient markets are held in Melbourne, so we went on the Internet and we are informed.
This large market has about 600 exhibitors, selling everything from fruit to souvenirs, from wine to ... sexy outfits, plus a food court and a few bars, the only problem is that it closes early, at 14, but we are organized and we have set your alarm at 7am and we left for a wild day of shopping! When we arrived
merchants were still setting up the stalls and then We have made a turn and we took a coffee Romolo's Cafe, a bar in the market, managed by Mr. Romulus airport, who has prepared his special coffee, honey, we must admit that it was not bad, and then we We set about finding an ATM to get a little 'money. "
After a few hours of shopping we have thrown in the food court where we have been eating Indian food, not bad, and then we returned to the search for a working cash because the money had ended up in the morning and the various banks in the area of the market there were retrieval. When
then finally we found it we went back into the market and we ate a sort of cannelloni greek accompanied by Coopers beer (a beer from Melbourne).
After a few more 'shopping we left the hotel to go and put all the envelopes with our purchases.
Around 6 we connected to the Internet in the mythical Federation Square and from there we updated the blog!
Then we walked towards the Carlton district, which is a typical area of Melbourne, mainly inhabited by Italians, who manage the myriad of Italian restaurants in Lygon Street (main street).
After a parade of restaurants, we chose to dine Papa Gino's, here we had a pizza as an appetizer, a "scafarea" of noodles with meat sauce and a meat dish with tomato, all wet from the great Shiraz - Cabernet wineries "Penfolds" (very good!).
After dinner, we made two cups of coffee cake and a frog in a nearby bar and then we walked into the hotel.
Arrived at the hotel we went immediately to sleep, because tomorrow we should have to wake up early to go do the tour on the Great Ocean Road.

Cool 35mm Film Tricks
Melbourne !!!
We woke up at 8 to go to breakfast before you leave your bags and leave the boys and loaded on vans for the airport.
The breakfast was very light, however, a bit 'of milk and cereal and a little' fruit!
We waited a bit 'that led the shuttle to the airport, where after the formalities of the cheek-in we got on the plane that took us to Melbourne.
When we arrived at Hamilton Island we were a bit 'scared by the fact that it was a goal too soft for us, where we would be bored, however, when we began to exploit the various pools, beaches, trails and other activities the island has changed our conception of the island and we are left to relax ... and a little 'sorry we have left it.
We left Hamilton Island was the ch 11: 05 AM and arrived in Melbourne at 15 and 30, here we took a bus to the center, we have made great off the bus and then, with the same ticket, another minibus led us to the hotel.
We are not more than 5 minutes left in the room and immediately threw ourselves headlong through the streets of Melbourne.
First we visited Federation Square, a futuristic place, where you raise a glass and steel structures, and other strange shapes as the large rocks and blocks, is a strong contrast between these structures and other "modern" in Melbourne, with the buildings of the British. After
Federation Square we walked the streets of downtown where we wandered up to the university area, being able to admire the unique architecture of the buildings of the university.
After this tour we decided to climb to the top of the "Eurika Tower, a skyscraper of 300 meters and 88 floors, all exterior glass and a square with the peak in gold, is presented as the tallest skyscraper Southern Hemisphere, but does something from outside, climb up to 88 floor with an elevator that is 9 m per second and then you can enjoy a 360 degree view over the city, mostly at sunset, it is even more, really charming, beautiful and "Vertigo."
back with feet on the ground we walked on the banks of the river (Yarra River), looking at the casino, theater, etc.. Then we went to the Docklands, which should be the part where there was once an old trading port that is now a place where there are yacht chic restaurants and even high-level football stadium.
Then we walked to the hotel as we were really tired, having made several km.

Uff uffh!! & Bang Bang …
Hamilton Island, 18/10/2009
The day began with the usual " lunch "English ... let alone the gory details ...
say that after some time spent at the table we have set out to" Palm Village ", another part of the island where you can do other activities, here it is possible pull golf balls in the water ... (sounds stupid but is also delicious as a thing), or you can make a go-kart race or better yet a nice helicopter ride or sull'idrovolante, but the real attraction for me (Antonio) was the shooting ... and not with the usual cans and Pistolini air, where the most fish and win the banana ... but here were shot with real guns!
I paid $ 89 more or less than € 70 but I'm really happy, because I did shoot:
1. Sniper Rifle;
2. A gun
3. The gun used in the movie The Matrix, and by the Australian police (do not know how to use it, it is difficult to shoot with this gun);
4. I listen, listen ... fired the gun 44. Clint Eastwood Magnum model pistol ... a giant who did a bang ...
was scary the first time I was shooting with real guns and I must say that you better not make me angry because I have a good shot!
but he left the pistol that I do not know what you may be interested, after the shooting we went back up and down the hills to reach the island a beautiful place "Coral Cove", you know those places to film, where there are 2 lovers, sun, turquoise sea, pristine beaches, palm trees blowing in the wind ... well it was true that place, at least until I got a couple of nudists uh ... let's say the vision was not so romantic ...
So we re on the road between uphill and downhill until you reach the resort.
Here we have taken a moment and threw ourselves on a deck chair by the pool.
At dinner we were again at the Marina Tavern where we ate a platter of Nachos and Chicken Parmigiana (breaded chicken with a large fries, sauce and cheese!), And the inevitable beer ( that costs less than water).
Then we went back to the hotel because we had to place the bags because the next day we had to leave for Melbourne!
Goodnight!

Trekking … auffh! …
Hamilton Island, 17/10/2009
SVEGLIAAAA!! Immediately
shoes on his feet and legs on his shoulders ...!? You go to trekking the trails of the island of Hamilton.
We started around 10 AM after a breakfast and energy, where I (Antonio), I also ate too much bacon and scrambled eggs!
We've come a 6 to 7 km and about 4 hours! The kilometers are not many but they were all very challenging ups and downs, but the views we have enjoyed at the end of the trail were truly exceptional, and then a walk through the fragrant eucalyptus trees is really nice.
After the long walk we returned to the hotel where we took a shower and went to "Marina" where we drained a few bottles of water and Schweppes (do not know how to spell).
The afternoon we spent between the pool and beach!
A dinner we were back to the Marina Tavern "this kind of pub and consists of 2 floors with a floor where you can dine, drink, and there are TV and music, while the 2nd floor there are bets on every sport possible imaginable!
There was a bang with people and it was not easy to be able to sit down, we kept light with a platter of pasta with our dear un'insalatona and garlic bread and a whole lot 'of beer!
The evening was really fun because there was karaoke, there were several very special people who appeared! We had great fun and so tuocoli tuocoli there we went back to the hotel to sleep! Goodnight

When we arrived at the edge of the reef, we types of snorkel made us wear a ridiculous jumpsuit thin, we did photos for decency, and we finally took to the water. Nor were there
dive that had already been presented before us a spectacle of nature, lots of colorful fish swimming in our midst and underneath there was a forest of brightly colored corals, coral and the sun was reflected on the shine fish, but really out of breath ... not because we were under water!
We tried to take pictures with an underwater machine, we hope it has come some good, so we pretty sight all around us that we did not understand anything!
After the first dive we went by boat and we were served lunch (lunch) buffet, but we kept quiet, you know how binge boat is never a good idea, if you must then shortly after return to water it is even less!
So we put back the jumpsuit ... and we came back into the water and swam to another reef, eh! Without words ...
Then unfortunately we had to go back on the boat and return to Hamilton Island, but we would have been more 10 hours in water to admire the spectacle of nature!
On the way back we got a bit 'in the sun, so we go home tanned and especially because we saw that in Melbourne, our next stop, there are 10 ° C!

landed at Hamilton Island we came back in the room, we took a shower and we went a bit 'for a walk and then dinner in a more "cool", where after I ordered they gave you a kind of hockey puck which began to vibrate and light up when your order was ready to be served!
After dinner we had a bell 'after dinner at the Reef Lounge of the hotel, a nice bar where there was a very good singer who also played the piano and we did spend a pleasant evening ... we went in the spirit of the Reef!
We have updated the blog and then to bed!
