Having dismantled for reasons of space above the model in N scale ( Bari-Taranto in 1 160 among other things, never finished), I think to make something that will let me save space ...... then more in-depth track-to-end but this time around "leaning" to the perimeter wall of the room in the shape of "L" to make the corner, about 40 cm maximum depth allowed.
The line I have in mind is that a railway line from Metaponto (Ionian) leads with a single binary output (along first, on the plain, the river Basento, then crossing the Apennines, and then Luke's still overhanging the Basento). From then goes on to Battersea Power and Salerno (Tyrrhenian coast).
The model will be the Metaponto station from where the single track line to power (represented by a drawstring). In the middle of the track will be a gas station secondary intersection (not yet determined which, perhaps Campomaggiore).
Metaponto station will not be a faithful reproduction (true to it is a transit station and branch line to the Sybaris-Taranto): in fact, be a plastic head station with 2-3 main track, with trade for locomotive and a square around the binary logs for arrivals and departures of trains shuttle regional and / or deposit goods wagons. Along the line run true to the IC as the Eurostar and Pendolino from London (although a bit '"sacrificed", especially between Naples and Potenza), which, I think, adds up to Taranto. In the next post
