Chronic Catarrh In Throat

Jaipur - "The Pink City" ... Capitol City

08/10/2010 - Jaipur 1

Namaste everyone!

.. today, as always, after many hours of machine ... to welcome the fabulous Jaipur was the capital of Rajastan much praised by the Indians ..
practically every thing you could need all said that we could find it here! .. Just arrived and we quickly realized why;
so we have chosen as our first stop for refreshments in Jaipur, the first modern shopping mall seen throughout our stay here in Rajasthan, there was everything, even the Mac Donald's, We personally tested, where the menu is not very diverse or vegetarian or chicken, all adapted to the Indian palate!
Then there was the Pizza Hut that what we understand is not very welcome here, then shops around the point where there's Levi, Patrizia Pepe and the shop also sports stores like ours (Foot Locker) this is a pleasure for the Indians last cry, and here there are many, the city is seen ahead of the other places in Rajasthan, though there is a strange contrast for us to see the traditional and modern
trying to merge;
example: two girls with a sari with the other t-shirt and jeans all star, like the rest of life here is a mixture of different lives of different ages living together, another example was served in the walk we took that night on I Road, the main street of the city;
Where we sent in a shopping arcade lit and lively music festival, this was called Carnival Market, an event where the electronics of
could find all the latest offers and news in this field, we are informed in a way that is quite striking from the commentator of a local channel that choose us as a testimonial for an interview since we are the only different faces.
all this technology has dissolved just off the "Gallery of electronics," out there waiting the usual horn, the cows (omnipresent element in india) and ciclorisciò drivers who accompany us on our journey where we see men with long white beards sitting in the "position" very convenient for them, and fry in large pots their goodies sweet and salty on the road, people who prepared the wreaths to be donated to the temple, pressure salesmanship and all the smells - smells exist. We
a walk after we buy a cheap trolley to put the fabrics and trinkets we bought and go back to the hotel with the trusted and econonico Tuc-Tuc, but you lose close to our hotel (Umaid Mahal) ...

Goodnight ...

09 / 10 / 2010 - Jaipur
2 Our second day in the "Pink City" ... begins with the knowledge of the 'Ice Man' Himanchu, our local guide, who speaks perfect Italian, and belongs to the caste of Brahmins.
We visit first the palace of the winds, which lies on the main street, several km long that cuts in half the city, wanted to let you marhajah by military parades and parade along with his noble guests. The
Marahjah wanted to paint the town pink because pink was considered the color of hospitality.
The Palace of the Winds, commissioned by marahjah time, stands exactly on this street, a grade is not habitable building (they say it is only a wall) architecture striking that allowed women to attend the events of marahjah without being seen by the people and was connected by internal corridors, to the royal palace in the fort of Amber!
Our tour continues to the Amber Fort, built by the Marahjah Man Sigh I, then dell'esrecito Mughal general, but before reaching our guide takes us to a place where there are tourists, near a Hindu temple, in fact , we find an old cistern that was used for drinking water and now the boys from Amber use to make spectacular dives from 10 meters.
remain enthralled to see the beautiful landscape of the walls as lace emerge from the green hills and reached the fort, we are greeted first by two giant pot that had to be used for boiling oil to throw up any invaders, but then not being necessary have been used as a cooking pot!
and after that there appeared a spectacular front door, decorated, dedicated to the god Ganesh.
Then while we were visiting the palace marahjah approached a bunch of girls who have been praying to get Federica take a picture with them all ???!!!
They were girls who came from rural villages of Haryana, a place "non-tourist" and for them it was funny to see these weird white guys!
We really lost in the beautiful decorations of this building very well maintained, works carving (art of stone engraving), decorated with mirrors and marble, stucco and colorful designs.
When we got down from the fort we met the elephants and we have the opportunity to take some pictures with these friendly giants, along the road we took some pictures of a romantic palace in the middle of an artificial lake, which was a theater on 'water used in the full moon from the Maharajah, and which should now become a restaurant.
not to be missed is the park where Jaipur astronomical instruments are well preserved for the calculation of the horoscope.
In the afternoon we visited a shop selling fabrics and clothes and anything else that is managed by Mr. Rincu (I will give the exact address), here I am made to do a Kurta (traditional gown), and a nice shirt to measure. here we have also shown how to make traditional prints on fabrics with natural colors, using stamps of teak or metal.

Then we asked the guide to take us to the "Monkey Temple", a place that lies between the hills behind Jaipur and that has not yet overrun by tourists, but we thought it was just a temple on a hill with a
gironzolanti hundred monkeys ... but we were wrong ...

The temple on the hill was there, the monkeys also ... but the beauty of this place is located elsewhere, the valleys formed between the hills, where there is a small abandoned village, and where there are baths and a temple where we bathe the faithful to purify the spirit, a word to describe the place ... Indescribable!!
scimmiottanti all we left with wondering eyes! (And here turned a movie and many people have asked for a photo)
Then in the evening after having been around a bit looking for some restaurant recommended by Lonely Planet, Hard Work ... We have decided to end our visit to Jaipur as it had started with a Mc Chicken Marahjah ... at McDonald's ...

Goodnight
