07/10/2010 Jodhpur "The Blue City"
The Blue City ... and we hope to remain so ...
This morning the alarm sounds a bit later and start from jasailmer around 9:00. We arrive in Jodhpur
around 14 and we stopped for lunch to the 'On the Rocks ", a trendy spot with outdoor seating in the shade of two giant trees. Here we taste a dish
rajastano sooo hot! all really good!
get to the hotel, nice place, very green, colonial style.
Here we meet the guide who takes us on the hill City where the crematorium is located and the real strong.
From there you can enjoy the spectacular panorama of the city blue, it seems to be projected in an atmosphere of absolute peace!
The crematorium, the white marble was built by the wife of a marahjah
after his death and is still used for the funeral service of the royal family.
The fort, now filled with Indian tourists, it houses objects of everyday life of the royal family, an armory and the rooms where the marahjah carried on the public and private activities.
After thousands of photos we went down to the town blue in the center to visit the bazaar.
this was a mixture of different activities, here are selling everything from colorful glass bracelets to tobacco,
from sewing machines to handle the flowers to give to the gods. the bazaar is a nice place but the traffic, smog and deafening horns ruin the atmosphere, however, we did not lose heart e. .. after a bit of shopping and many rupees cheaper, we're back at the hotel.
Our hotel Devi Bhawan was the oasis of tranquility and here after eating an ice cream and drinking a lassi, we tried to publish something on the blog.
Then after that they told us it was time to turn off the computer (it was late!) We went to sleep!
